YSA Ancheta (b. Metro Manila) is an artist and writer working across mediums of video, sound, archive, installation, performance and poetry.

Ancheta is interested in working through and researching the entanglement of collective and personal memory. He engages with found media such as ancient texts, internet memes, radio recordings, and cable television, then places them alongside his own subjective experiences.

His work, wether it be forms of video collages or visual poetry, are places for them to both locate and complicate notions of postcolonial identity, queerness, class, and embodied history.

He currently lives in Philadelphia with his partner, their tuxedo cat and their chihuahua.
